Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs

Where do Classes Meet?

Most classes meet in the Harrison Libraries' KF Room while larger ones meet in Wilde Auditorium, the Greenberg Center or the 1877 Club on the University of Hartford campus. The Course and Event Calendar shows the location for each event.

Should I Start Reading in Advance?

The Course Coordinator will supply you with any advance reading suggested by the Instructor.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

The University reserves the right to cancel any class or make other changes it deems necessary. A registrant who wishes a refund based on changes made by the University may obtain one via an email to Judy Kacmarcik. Otherwise, all tuition and fees are nonrefundable; credits cannot be issued.

What happens if the University closes?

If the University closes for severe weather or any other reason, Presidents' College courses and events are canceled. Check for information and updates at hartford.edu or call 860.768.4100. The Course Coordinator will contact you about make-up sessions. If the University has a delayed opening, any Presidents’ College class or event scheduled after the opening will take place.

Parking on Campus

If you are a Presidents' College Fellow, you will receive a hangtag parking permit to display in your vehicle when you park on campus. You may park in any lot at any time, except in handicap spaces (unless you also have that permit). If you park without displaying the permit, you will be ticketed by the Campus Police.

Non-Fellows of the College receive a parking permit for certain designated lots, valid for the duration of the course for which you have registered. Place this on your dashboard when you arrive for class. If you park without displaying the permit, you will be ticketed by the Campus Police.
