The University’s Archives are now part of two finding aid databases, Connecticut Archives Online (CAO) and ArchiveGrid. Both databases help make the collection searchable for researchers across the state, and around the world. The CAO includes the collections of Connecticut universities, historical societies, museums, and the state archives, and ArchiveGrid a much larger database, includes archives and special collection libraries from around the world. Both databases allow researchers to conduct searches across multiple institutions at once, and will help make our archival materials more easily discoverable to more researchers. You can explore them by visiting CAO at library.wcsu.edu/cao, and ArchiveGrid at https://beta.worldcat.org/archivegrid/.
During Hawktober Weekend, attendees were able to see part of the University’s Archives and Special Collections at a pop-up exhibit in the KF Room. Items displayed included yearbooks, memorabilia, photographs, and the works of notable faculty and staff throughout the University’s history. The plan is to provide exhibits and other events during future Hawktober Weekends.
