You never know what you may find in the Mortensen Library. Currently, on display is the 2004 School of Engineering FSAE racecar. It is green, sleek, and fast (looking). Speed limit inside Mortensen is three miles per hours walking speed. Sorry guys!
For those who visited the Cow Parade in West Hartford, Moople Syrup will be familiar.
Painted by the entire Brown family, which includes Stephen (Associate Professor of painting, Hartford Art School), Gretchen Treitz, his wife, Rushton, his son and Hannah, his daughter, during the summer of 2003. The idea for the cow Moople Syrup, originated during April 2003, because at that time each year the Brown family, tap their maple trees and produce maple syrup. Moople Syrup is on loan to the University from Guida’s Dairy.

This year Summer Place used the Mortensen Library for three very special programs: Math, Sweet Math; Lead and Serve; and Wild Weather. The Summer Place program provides campers the opportunity to create a daily schedule of enrichment and athletic activities that reflect their personal interests and talents. For more information on Summer Place visit their website at: www.hartford.edu/summerplace.
Lead and Serve campers were visited by Hunter, Bella, and Echo, assisted therapy dogs. The dogs visit nursing homes, extended care facilities, hospitals, adolescent residential facilities, hospice and rehab centers.
