E-Doc - Document Delivery

E-Doc is a service that delivers selected ILL documents directly to your computer.

How to use E-Doc
Many of the documents that we receive from other libraries are delivered to us in an electronic format. These files produce higher quality printouts than faxed documents, and can be delivered in seconds instead of days. Delivering documents over the network can save from 2-7 days or more over US mail, and save you a trip to the library to pick up your request. You will need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer.
Unfortunately, not all documents will be delivered in this manner, so we cannot guarantee that this will be the method of delivery. We also have no control over how the original document is scanned, so you will need to let us know if you encounter any missing pages or unreadable text.
To use this service, select Electronic on the ILS Request form. And be sure to give us your preferred email address (UofH recommended).

Retrieving your E-Doc
When the ILS department receives your article electronically, it will be converted to the PDF format and placed on a library web server. You will receive an email message that contains a link to the E-Doc homepage and a PIN number, which is randomly chosen by the software.
At the E-Doc homepage, you will need to enter your email address and your PIN number in order to access your documents. You will then receive a list of all the documents that have been posted for you electronically. By clicking on the link, the document will be displayed in Adobe Acrobat. You may then print your document.
Your document will be permanently removed from the server after five (5) viewings or two (2) weeks from the original email message, to comply with copyright laws.
