Doctoral Students borrowing at other Academic Libraries Nicholas Wharton

The Council of Connecticut Academic Library Directors (CCALD) is pleased to announce that participating institutions now allow doctoral level students to borrow materials with approval from the home institution. The original borrowing agreement allows faculty from many Connecticut academic Libraries to gain limited borrowing privileges from other participating libraries. After successful use by faculty, the Council has decided to extend the service to doctoral students.

The Library would like to invite any University of Hartford doctoral student to apply for the special borrowing card. To apply for a CCALD borrowing card, a faculty or doctoral student must seek approval from the University of Hartford Circulation Desk at either the Mortensen or Allen Libraries. Upon approval, the patron receives a special borrowing card that now may be used at one of the other participating academic libraries.View the list of participating members.
Archives Intern Margaret Mair
This semester Archives Intern Crissy Bassett is cataloging the University Archives’ collection of audio and video recordings. Thanks to her hard work, we will now be able to find materials much more easily. The collection includes close to 1000 items and continues to grow. Among the recordings are treasures such as lectures by both Martin Luther King and Coretta Scott King and a film of Senator Ribicoff signing the original charter of the University in 1957.
Crissy attended Hall High School in West Hartford and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Hartford in 2004 majoring in American History and minoring in secondary education and psychology. She will receive her Master of Library Science with a double concentration in information technology and special libraries from St. John’s University in New York City in the spring of 2007.
